Paras Panjwani

Behavioral Economist & Author

Paras Panjwani is a Behavioral Economist and Author whose work explores how human behavior shapes decision-making, governance, institutions, and societal outcomes. His research and writing examine the psychological and behavioral mechanisms that influence the choices made by individuals, organizations, and policymakers, and how those choices collectively shape the systems in which people live and work.

His interdisciplinary work brings together behavioral science, psychology, behavioral economics, and public policy to better understand the relationship between human behavior and institutional effectiveness. Through a behavior-first perspective, Paras explores how cognitive biases, beliefs, incentives, and social norms influence decision-making, and how these behavioral patterns scale into broader economic, organizational, and societal outcomes.

Paras is the author of Shift Your Perspective: Navigating Life Through Different Perspectives, a work exploring how cognitive framing and personal perspective influence decision-making, behavior, and individual growth. He is also developing his second book, Untrue but Believable, which examines how people construct beliefs, interpret reality, and make decisions through the lens of perception, psychology, and behavioral science.

Alongside his research and writing, Paras provides behavioral economics consulting to governments and organizations, applying insights from behavioral science to improve decision-making and address complex behavioral challenges. His advisory work draws upon interdisciplinary research to help bridge behavioral understanding with practical, real-world applications across public, private, and social sectors.

Beyond his writing and advisory work, Paras actively engages with international policy and development communities through research initiatives, professional networks, and interdisciplinary dialogue. His public presence is shaped through authorship, behavioral research, policy commentary, media contributions, and participation in discussions that advance the understanding and application of behavioral science in addressing contemporary societal challenges.
